Java Developer
The manager needs to hire 2 developers with emphasis on the front end -
Jquery and AngularJS, in addition to full stack, J2EE, consuming web
services doing production support, reengineering, and enhancement of
existing code.
The Strategic Investments Product and Data (SIPD) Team is seeking a skilled
Software Engineer / Developer to play a key role designing, developing and
maintaining JEE-based web applications. The SIPD group supports the
delivery of Fidelity's financial planning and guidance tools to Personal
Investments customers, Workplace clients and Fidelity's customer service
representatives. SIPD supports applications that help customers plan for
their financial goals, analyze their holdings, and provide investment
strategies to rebalance their portfolios.
*Primary Responsibilities*
- Work directly with business partners in designing, developing and
maintaining JEE web applications. Participation includes providing UXD
feedback, functional/technical analysis, architecture, coding and testing.
- Act as a technical representative of the product-facing team,
implementing features under minimal supervision.
- Provide input into agile story definition and dependencies. Provide
feature-level and story-level estimates as well as detailed task estimates.
- Contribute to or write concise and clear technical specifications
based on analysis of complex business requirements
- Adhere to project timelines, address and resolve technical issues
- Contribute to process-improvement initiatives in an effort to maximize
velocity for the product team
*Education and Experience*
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
*Skills and Knowledge*
- 3+ years of JEE development experience
- 5+ years of OO development experience
- Strong verbal and written communications, must be able to actively
engage other team members
- Hands-on experience working within an agile (scrum, XP or similar)
development environment
- Experience implementing functionality using the following
technologies/concepts:
- JSP/CSS/HTML/JavaScript
- JQuery, Dojo or equivalent rich internet technology
- Spring
- XML/JSON
- Web Services
- Service Oriented Architecture
- Unix (basic scripting)
- Familiarity with object oriented design patterns, including those
introduced by the Gang of Four and Patterns of Enterprise Application
Architecture sources
- Familiarity with Relational databases (Oracle, DB2) preferred
- Familiarity with ESB platform or messaging technologies preferred
- Ability to multi-task, manage time and priorities, and meet scheduled
deadlines
- Experience with ClearCase and/or Rational Team Concert preferred
Knowledge of Financial Planning applications preferred
