3 or more years experience with implementing Hadoop systems in Production
environments using Hive or related Hadoop SQL tools. Strong SQL skills,
java development skills, Hadoop Map Reduce coding, Unix shell scripting and
extensive knowledge of Hadoop open source projects.
· Extend current work with Seagate Hadoop ("Hadoop") team to define
· architecture and standard operating procedures for Hadoop data
ingest design and architecture to include Staging and Production
environments.
· Define best practices & scripts for Data Ingest backfilling of
· Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Field and other types data
from existing EDW system and other data sources.
· Define best practices & scripts for Data Ingest for new data from
· Factory and Design Centers and other data sources.
· Define best practices & scripts for building data tiers as
required
· in the new Hadoop environment.
· Define best practices & scripts for compression and data file
types
· (HBase, Hive, Columnar and others) to provide good optimization
and performance of user and application queries as required in the new
Hadoop environment.
· Assist in the identification of resource intensive queries to be
· migrated from EDW and integrating custom EDW queries and
applications such as eCube to run queries from Hadoop in place of EDW.
· Hadoop cluster and query performance tuning.
· Identify and help implement subsequent and new technologies that
· will comprise the Seagate Hadoop Roadmap.
· Assist in setting up Hadoop monitoring and data routing
traceability/audits.
