(I WILL SAY IT AGAIN! Lol)* *MUST COME FROM A TRADING ENVIRONMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!* *JOB DESCRIPTION:* Must possess strong Microsoft SQL Server DBA and t-sql skills. Replication, geo clustering, mirroring, AlwaysOn, table partitioning, scripting, performance tuning are a few examples. Candidate will be responsible for supporting over 300 Microsoft SQL Servers along with 3 other DBAs. Will be working closely with developers, application support, server response team and QA team in troubleshooting production problems and testing releases. Candidate must be self-motivated, innovative, flexible and instrumental in devising prompt solutions to support mission critical trading systems and downstream middle office and back office database systems. Oracle experience is a big plus. *EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS DESIRED (MUST BE JOB RELATED):* College graduate with degree in computer science or related field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Must have a minimum 10+ years' experience performing SQL Server database administration. The person will be responsible for all aspects of the DBA role, including: Database installation and configuration Database upgrade and migration Replication Table partitioning Clustering and any other high availability solutions AlwaysOn Mirroring Log shipping and disaster recovery procedures Database performance troubleshooting and tuning Effective team work with development, QA and infrastructure groups to review, test and troubleshoot releases. Skills to monitor and keep mission critical systems up and running 24/7 at utmost performance. This position will require supporting and maintaining sql servers after hours and weekends. Must be flexible to troubleshoot any problems around the clock and implement any scheduled weekend work. Any additional experience in Oracle or kdb is a big plus. Experience with trading systems is a critical. Therefore at least 3+ year experience in Financial sector is required. Any previous development experience is a plus. Must work well individually and as a team player with various teams on various projects.
