*Position Overview*
Isobar is looking for Lead Back-End Developers with a specialization in C#
programming who can guide technical teams through all phases of the
software development life cycle, including ownership of the entire
technical track of an engagement and all related modules. Lead Developers
are responsible for designing business and technology solutions in a team
setting. This includes launching products and services based on the work,
and functioning as a creative and integral part of ensuring these
deliverables are a success.
Candidates are expected to deliver high-quality C# code in a timely manner,
as well as manage multiple phases of the project life cycle (design,
develop, deploy). They must also be proficient with standard development
tools in the .Net framework, including MVC5, LINQ, RESTful, as well as
asynchronous programming. Lead Back-End Developers at Isobar are also
responsible for requirements gathering, software design, development and
testing.
Candidates must have IT consulting experience, be able to collaborate in
cross-functional teams, have effective written and verbal communication
skills, be detail-oriented, and willing to travel. The ability to
prioritize and manage work and adhere to critical project timelines in a
fast-paced environment is also key. We look for self-starters who are
passionate about technology and the solutions we design, and who possess a
proactive delivery focus.
*Responsibilities*
- Act as technical lead on C# engagements, including requirements
gathering, design, development and testing
- Produce high-quality, modular, reusable C# code that incorporates
coding best practices
- Participate in new product development, customizations, and
enhancements, working closely with a cross-functional team to deliver
against project goals
- Report issues and status in scrums to project management
- Produce technical documentation
- Mentor junior developers
*Required Experience / Skills*
- 8+ years of development experience across multiple platforms
- Strong understanding of software best practices as it applies to web
application, integration service and REST API development
- Expertise in C#, WebAPI, and MVC in vNext / Mono in a .NET Framework
4.5 environment
- Experience with:
- deploying, configuring and tuning common application servers and
packages, including container-based application deployment (e.g., Docker)
- web-based technologies of one or more of the following: ASP.Net,
MVC, IIS, WCF, REST, JSON, SOAP
- Agile development methodologies (SCRUM)
- Language-Integrated Query (LINQ)
- web-scale projects, software design, project management and
implementation tools
- unit test frameworks, dependency injection and application profiling
- Exposure to VNext / CoreCLR technology, ideally participation in the
early access program of Microsoft’s C# and MVC cross-platform
implementations
- Experience:
- implementing RESTful services that go beyond simple database access
(i.e., calls out to other externally-hosted web services such as
SOAP/REST)
- mentoring teams that are new to C# and ASP.NET technology
- in SQL and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, S3, Mongo, Redis,
Memcache, BigQuery, ElastiCache, or Event Store
- in design patterns, both high-level (e.g., GoF) and those idiomatic
to C# and MVC
- in object-oriented analysis and design using UML
- Proficiency with:
- computer operating systems, including Windows, Mac OS X, and Unix
/ Linux (e.g., shell scripting, troubleshooting)
- asynchronous programming (e.g., Task Parallel Library, async,
await)
- Understanding of service-oriented architecture
- Extensive knowledge in Visual Studio, Visual Studio.NET and Git /
GitHub
- Significant experience with tuning and refactoring code, and assessing
the impact of architectural decisions on performance and scalability

- Hands-on exposure to MVC 6
- Exposure to:
- CoreCLR on Linux
- functional programming concepts (e.g., Haskell, F#, Scala)
