This is a high visibility, high impact opportunity for a talented Database Engineer / DBA. You will play the key role in our migration to PostgreSQL. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES: Migration of MS SQL Server Production DB to PostgreSQL Work on multiple environments and projects for our production and corporate environments Production support of the database environments Software product installation and maintenance Proactive monitoring and maintenance, resolving technical issues, backup and recovery, and performance tuning. REQUIREMENTS: 5+ years PostgreSQL Engineering / DBA experience Expert Knowledge of SSIS, SSAS and SSRS Solid grasp of Microsoft Best Practices. Experience with SQL Server 2005/2008. Experience working in a 24x7 environment. Excellent communication skills for team projects and client communication. Strong analytical skills for problem resolution, database and SQL performance tuning. Extensive knowledge and experience in maintenance plans, backups and recoveries. Extensive experience in at least two of the following: Microsoft Clustering, Replication, Transact/SQL (code tuning), Mirroring, Log Shipping.
