*Please send resume to* *arv...@idctechnologies.com* <arv...@idctechnologies.com> *Position: CCNP Cisco Network Engineer* *Location: Brooklyn, NY* *Duration: 4 + Months* *F2F Interview only* *Local candidates to NY/NJ area only* *Position in Brooklyn, NY* Responsibilities: • Designing and implementing complex network projects to address and resolve business needs of DOE. • Perform network modification projects in relation to DOE Wide Area Network (WAN), DoE enterprise data centers that include routing protocol configuration changes, router/switch configuration, firewall/VPN configuration, and load balancer configuration. • Meets with and collect data from various departments and agencies in the creation of practical network modifications for design, development, testing and eventual implementation in the production environment. • Creating change requests for configuration changes on routers, switches and firewalls etc. • Performs day-to-day network administration tasks including network equipment maintenance, application and network troubleshooting utilizing packet traces. • Utilizes monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software and hardware equipment to troubleshoot and isolate problems, gauge network performance, and trace data and protocol activity. • Provides periodic network inventory reports, bandwidth utilization and security status reporting. • Prepare network diagrams, floor plans and schematics using Microsoft Visio. • Supports and maintains DoE optical backbone comprising DWDM and Synchronous Optical Networking (SONET) environment. • Responds evenings and weekends to emergency calls regarding critical network outages. Certification Requirements: Minimum: Experience and Skillsets: • Deep understanding in networking technologies related to all layers of the TCP/IP stack. • Strong experience in routing and switching protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, RIP, STP, Etherchannel and Trunking. • Expertise and significant hands-on experience working with large LAN/WAN infrastructure and all LAN and WAN networking technologies. • Hands-on experience and expertise with Cisco Catalyst Switches 6500, 4500, 3550; Cisco Routers 7500, 7200, 3845, 2900, 800. • Experience with Datacenter switches such as Nexus 2k, 5k and 7k. • Strong hands on experience with Cisco Pix and ASA firewalls, including NAT, ACL configuration. • Excellent understanding of VPN and related protocols - site to site, client, IPSEC (including the protocol suite), IKE, tunnel modes, SSL clientless/ Anyconnect, Tunnels between ASAs, Routers. • Experience with Local Load Balancers Cisco CSS/ACE/GSS, F5 BigIP LTM. • Understanding of VoIP protocols and implantation using Cisco products. • Quality of Service understanding and configuration, able to customize across all Cisco platforms to support Voice, Video, and selected applications. • Experience with optical networking such as DWDM, SONET architecture and monitoring using Cisco Prime Optical. • Technical expertise in server virtualization technologies such as VMware. • Experience in technical documentation including network drawings using Microsoft Visio. • Excellent analytical and organizational skills and attention to detail. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in preparation of reports, presentations and documentation. • Ability to verbally translate and articulate complex technical issues for the efficacy of non-technical users. • Experience in the development of technology standards for Architecture, Design and Implementation. • Networking protocols and standards: CCNP certification.
