This team is focused on capturing, processing and storing big data to enable us to measure our success in delighting customers, in both function and performance. Utilize technologies such as Java, Spring, Storm, Kafka, Hadoop, Impala and more to maximize the value of our data, in both real-time and offline modes. What You Do · Design, build and test massively scalable, highly available data platform services. · Work with multiple teams to develop requirements and products. · Explore, identify and champion data and technology opportunities. · Drive continual improvement to system architecture. · Strengthen our development methodologies and processes. Your Opportunity · Work with multiple teams to provide business critical services. · Work in a self driven results oriented environment. · Work with massive data and related systems. · Participate in the architectural strategy, from PoC to proposal to implementation. · Learn and practice devops from the engineering side. · Implement modern, scalable, business driven capabilities for big data and real time processing. · Solve for challenges that involve concurrency and multi-tenancy at a large scale. · Be recognized as a master of, and internal SME for, specific solutions and technologies. Must Have Skills · Solid communication and collaboration skills. · Ability to create well structured, properly designed code for simplicity and maintainability. · Professional experience involving data modeling, highly concurrent systems and highly available systems. · Strong Computer Science skills. Must understand the core principles of OO design & development and how to apply them in a highly scaled environment. · Minimum 5 years experience writing and troubleshooting production Java applications. · Extensive experience in big data/NoSQL technologies such as Hadoop, Cassandra, etc. · Experience with RDBMs and SQL. · Experience building a solution on top of an established framework.
