*Role: PostgreSQL DBA * *Location: Fort Collins. CO* *Duration: 6+ months* Client is looking for a candidate who is home grown or from nearby state. Roles and Responsibilities for PostgreSQL DBA • Candidate should have 7+ years of experience in database Administration and support in PostgreSQL Server DBA environments. • Solid Understanding of database technologies - This includes understanding the database architecture, file system layout, and database processes. • Understanding of PostgreSQL database tools and troubleshooting techniques - This includes traces, reading logs, reading memory dumps, etc. • Performance tuning techniques - This includes explain plans and using operating system and/or database tools to determine the areas that are affected. • Solid understanding how middleware and other components interact with the database, be aware of any issues that can arise out of it. • Knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery for PostgreSQL Development (psql and tsql) experience with ability to write and troubleshoot SQL code (stored procedures, functions, tables, indexes, constraints) - Experience with system monitoring tools • Experience in independently performing root cause analysis and coming up with recommendations • Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve live database systems issues. • Knowledge of disaster recovery principles and practices, including planning, testing, backup/restore • Experience with backups, restores, recovery (Slony / Wall-E / Pgbouncer) • Hands-on experience on database administration, backup recovery and troubleshooting in co-location environments • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment • Experience in performance tuning, query optimization, replication techniques, clustering, LDAP authentication, partitioning and security issues • Experience with database security concepts, including access, auditing, and encryption. *• Experience in Migration from Oracle/db2/mssql to PostgreSQL 9.3* • Incident Management: Resolve single and cross technology incidents independently. Work with team members to resolve unusually complex or cross technology incidents. • Teamwork: Work as part of a team, which may be virtual, global, and/or multi-functional Please share some suitable profiles.
