  *Job Description:*

 Primary duties of this position will be to install, configure and maintain 
DB2 LUW on Red Hat Linux.  This includes integration with Active Directory, 
DB2 Connect  and implementing DB2 LUW HADR.  Secondary duties of this 
position are the normal Database Administration duties, such as creating 
tables, indexes, running backups and recoveries.

  *Job Duties:* 

   - Install DB2 LUW on Red Hat Linux.
   - Integrate DB2 LUW with Active Directory.
   - Implement DB2 LUW High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HADR).
   - Implement DB2 LUW auditing.
   - Implement DB2 LUW encryption/decryption.
   - Identifies database requirements by interviewing customers; analyzing 
   department applications, programming, and operations; evaluating existing 
   systems and designing proposed systems.
   - Recommends solutions by defining database physical structure and 
   functional capabilities, database security, data back-up, and recovery 
   specifications.
   - Installs revised or new systems by proposing specifications and 
   flowcharts; recommending optimum access techniques; coordinating 
   installation requirements.
   - Maintains database performance by calculating optimum values for 
   database parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance 
   requirements; evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products.
   - Prepares users by conducting training; providing information; 
   resolving problems.
   - Provides information by answering questions and requests.
   - Supports database functions by designing and coding utilities.
   - Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization 
   standards.
   - Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending 
   educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing 
   personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating 
   in professional societies.
   - Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
   - Provide 24X7 on call support and occasional weekend onsite support.


   - Review database security and provide recommendations for improvements.
   - Perform appropriate Change Management duties to comply with IT 
   policies and procedures.
   - Perform appropriate Incident/Problem Management duties to comply with 
   IT policies and procedures.
   - Report progress on a weekly basis of status on all assigned work tasks 
   in a written report.

 *Minimum Qualifications:* 

   - Experience with DB2 LUW version 9.5 or higher.
   - Experience with Red Hat Linux version 7.
   - Experience with Active Directory.
   - Experience with DB2 LUW High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HADR).
   - Experience with DB2 Connect.
   - Experience with QMF for Workstation or DataQuant.
   - Experience with DB2 LUW backup and recovery.
   - Experience with Microsoft EXCEL and WORD.

 *Preferred Qualifications:* 

   - Experience with TOAD for DB2 LUW.
   - Experience with Data Studio.
   - Experience with Data Server Manager.
   - Experience with ERwin.
   - Experience with scripting languages.
   - Experience with Dell’s Batch Processing Environment (BPE) and 
   Transaction Processing Environment (TPE).
   - Experience with IBM’s Content Manager.
   - Experience in large data center operations, specifically change 
   control processes and software migration.
   - Strong understanding of IT operational processes and familiarity with 
   standards and trends in the industry relative to IT processes and security.
   - Advanced degree from an accredited college or university.
   - Experience with database Performance Tuning.
   - Experience with database problem solving.
   - Experience with presenting technical information to peers and 
   management.
   - Good communication skills.
   - Good people skills.
   - Experience with Local, State or Federal government.
