The role will also work to define process and automate aspects of the client’s software development lifecycle in support of the achievement of Patterson’s software requirements. Including, but not limited to version control, continuous integration, release engineering, release management facilitation, and continuous delivery of software programs and applications. RESPONSIBILITIES: Development Operations: Work with Product Support, Infrastructure, and Development team members to troubleshoot application, environment and/or configuration issues. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: automation, build, package, dependency management, deployment, tools and monitoring. Partner with IT Operations team to ensure smooth deployments into the production environment via tooling. Build and Release Management: Work with the Build and Release Engineer to manage and coordinate Build and Release Management activities, release branches/streams and merging. Implement and manage Automated Deployment and Continuous Integration and Delivery capabilities. Work with developers, test teams, infrastructure teams and product managers to ensure releases are delivered with a repeatable and auditable process. Define, implement and enforce strong software build, deployment and configuration management processes for development, testing, and production systems. Make recommendations on specific aspects of Build and Deployment and continuously strive towards improvements in process and productivity through technology improvements. Project Team Work: Participates in defining software development project plans, including scheduling and implementation. Performs program turnover to production support and customers upon completion of development, testing, and documentation. Issue Resolution: Partners with software engineers and the infrastructure team to resolve problems with software products or company software systems.
