Role: Network Engineer Location: Brooklyn, NY Duration: About 13 months Need only GC/USC only SCOPE OF SERVICES: • Perform analysis and design of the network using Cisco technologies to ensure minimum impact to services during network refresh activities. • Complete router/switch Cisco configuration templates for newly deployed devices. • Create detailed documentation and Vision diagrams. • Configure Cisco switches and routers to be deployed. • Create and perform End to End Test Plan to ensure connectivity, routing, and automatic failover working as designed. • Perform snmp, syslog, and netflow testing. • Coordinate after hours changes with various agencies and manage change control process. • Research and resolve network problems related to the implementation. • Attend meetings and follow up on assigned tasks. • Document Network in compliance with DoITT standards MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: • At least 4 years of experience as a Network Engineer. • Experience in deploying Cisco Catalyst and Nexus Switches, with complete understanding of the limitations of the linecards. • Experience in designing and deploying Datacenter technologies (VDC, VPC, OTV). • Detailed Experience in the routing protocols BGP, EIGRP and OSPF. • Detailed understanding of Designing and implementing an Overall Enterprise QoS solution, including understanding of Queuing for Catalyst and Nexus products. • Detailed understanding of deploying mgmt. protocols (SNMPv3, Syslog, Netflow,etc..) • Basic understanding of Wireless solutions and deployments. DESIREABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: • Strong analytical and conceptual skills. • Ability to work in cross functional teams; excellent attention to detail. • Candidate should be highly self-motivated and have strong customer and quality-focus. • Sound problem resolution, judgment, and decision-making skills. • Experience working with technical and non-technical staff. • Experience reviewing project design and system documents • Familiarity with City of New York network infrastructure environments and processes will be an advantage.
