You will also be doing ad hoc development for analysts, business executives, and the senior management team. You will also work interdependently with others in SIA who are responsible for data visualization/generating reports. Responsibilities • Translate functional requirements into technical solutions, perform unit tests, deploy solutions, and provide documentation for the Analytics team products. • Work closely with Services Intelligence & Analytics team members and assigned Services business units to effectively understand goals and objectives. • Be able to deliver data to the business using SQL queries across database assets • Become an expert of Nokia Services’ core data systems, including Teradata, Omniture, Cognos, and Business Objects. Apply understanding of each Services business unit to ensure integrity of data. • Support the analytics teams with simple interfaces that consolidate data needed for generating reports, analyzing trends, and determining underlying causes of observed results. • Collaborate with Nokia platform teams, external partners, and marketing agencies to assist with data collection, integration and integrity, as well as providing secure access to data they need for reporting and optimizing Nokia’s business performance. • Support the requirements collected by SIA business analysts to provide insights and high-quality recommendations to senior business leaders. Qualifications • Apply knowledge and significant hands on experience in: o Deep understanding of SQL to retrieve, transform and store data from multiple sources o Web analytics tools such as Visual Sciences, Omniture, WebTrends *o Business Intelligence tools such as SAS, Cognos, Business Objects* o Preferred knowledge of database design & architecture • Strong database skills and associated tool use such as Teradata, Excel, Pivot Tables, Access, MySQL, Tableau • Conduct investigations to identify causes of data inconsistencies and lead work effort to resolve issues in a timely manner that meets the needs of the business. • Ensure that data can be extracted and accessed in as straightforward means as possible • Develop requirements and methodologies, utilize technology, and manage partnerships (internal and external) to automate manually-intensive data activities. Communication Skills • Effectively interact, communicate, and collaborate with key internal clients including business analysts, and technology implementation teams. • Translate business needs into actionable requirements. Write clear and concise documentation including step-by-step process instructions. Candidate Characteristics • Obsessive intellectual curiosity and pro-active passion for problem solving. • Enthusiasm and advocacy for data management with a strong desire to evolve skills. • Able to prioritize and manage several projects simultaneously and drive projects through to completion.
