Education: 4-yr College Degree preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent technical degree. The applicant will be expected to have good interpersonal skills for the purposes of coordination with other technical teams, business partners, third party vendors, and other members of his/her own technical team. The candidate’s primary responsibility will be to provide first level support for the Sun and Linux systems and middleware in the Unix Operations Center (UOC). This would include initial assessment and triage of problems in the environment, performing daily health checks to the overall environment, handling/coordinating the resolution of hardware problems, escalating issues to second level support as necessary, fielding work requests and trouble tickets for the area, delegating work requests and problems to second level support as necessary, and special assignments and projects upon request. The entry to mid-level administrator must be well rounded, possess maturity, vision, and a depth of experience that allows for grasping of issues quickly and making educated, critical judgment in the absence of complete information. This candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced 24x7 environment with on-call duties as required.
