*Sr. Linux Solaris Systems Admin* *Duration: 6-12 Months* *Location: San Jose, CA <x-apple-data-detectors://28>*
*Requirements* • BS in computer Management of Information Systems, or Computer Science with a minimum of 4-5 years of hands on system administration experience with all aspects of Linux and Solaris • Linux, Solaris administration platforms, Virtualization technologies (vmware, LPARS,VIO servers, zones) and VERITAS technologies (Storage foundation, VCS, SFRAC, CFS etc). • 2-3 years of experience working with IBM P-Series servers is must (Management of HMC, COD, VIO servers, creating LPAR's, etc). • Redhat Linux, Solaris and ZFS, Veritas VCS, SFRAC, CFS, Storage Foundation and managing systems within SOX compliance environments. • Competency in storage provisioning and installation including strong understanding of system performance tuning and troubleshooting. • Experience managing Oracle databases on IBM AIX platform is desired. Experience in managing application and web servers in a highly virtualization environment is essential for this position. • In-depth knowledge of networking concepts and server deployments on Linux and Solaris platforms, understanding of SAN storage, and Veritas VCS high availability is a must. • Knowledge of vmware ESX (Vsphere 4.x is preferred) and hands on experience with working on provision of VM's, Vmotion and Vswitch technologies is a plus. • Experience with System management tools (Capacity management, Configuration management, Automation etc) and knowledge of shell and/or Perl scripting is a plus.. • Good communication and customer service skills. Ideal candidate is expected to be strong in the areas of self-motivation, initiative, and communication and has a proven ability to synergize and effectively work with other teams.
