environment. Assist with daily operations and support. Possibly provide
off-hours maintenance and project support. Collaborate with development
teams to tune new and existing SQL, PL SQL and other database access
interfaces. Analyze system performance, database performance, system health
checks and implement tuning improvements. *
*Implement, manage, and monitor databases in production. *
*Linux shell scripting / shell/perl scripting / data processing. *
*Perform physical implementation of database design from Oracle server
installation to database creation. *
*Install, manage, maintain, and troubleshoot databases and data models that
support business, web, and data warehouse applications. *
*Manage the multiple Oracle databases, ensuring that all servers are
operational 24x7x365 and all jobs were completed. *
*Assume responsibility for backup and recovery, sizing, security,
replication, database optimization, schema creation and maintenance, as well
as SQL tuning and code optimization. *
*Resolve complex database problems utilizing analysis and troubleshooting
skills. *
*Follow established policies and procedures pertaining to the database
management, security, maintenance and utilization. *
*Perform database monitoring, maintenance, reorganizations, resource
management, schema management, and capacity planning and performance tuning
for the company's databases *
*TECHNICAL SKILLS :

*8+ years Oracle DBA experience. Expert in Oracle database administration &
SQL/PL SQL development. *
*Solid understanding of Oracle internal architecture, and cost-based
optimizer behavior for 10g and 11gR2 *
*Database development and administration tools, including SqlPlus, OEM Grid,
TOAD or PL/SQL Developer, Erwin or Embarcadero Data Modeling. *
*Fluent in at least one scripting language: ksh, sh, is a MUST. *
*Intimately familiar with database tuning techniques for scalability as well
as performance in Data Warehouse domain. *
*Proficient Oracle Linux/Redhat/SUSE operating systems and system
