Rate : market Location : San Jose CA Duration : 1 year No Of positions : 3 Primary Job Responsibilities The web development team is seeking a qualified and dedicated senior web developer with the drive to succeed in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Working with cross functional teams of designers, engineers and product managers, you will be defining the future of online payments while pushing the limits of web development. Your ability to be creative and resourceful in problem solving while working effectively with a range of technical backgrounds is extremely important in this position. You will be developing complex data driven consumer facing applications while taking into account site speed, user experience, product strategy, and what the latest web technologies can offer us. The other focal point of the team is to continue building custom tools, libraries, and frameworks that are owned by the team which other developers at PayPal use. The team’s focus is to continuously push the boundary on what’s possible; innovation and prototyping is key to showcase new products, technologies, and user experiences. You are also given the freedom to work on self-driven initiatives that bring value to the company. We need presentation tier focused developers that work with advanced HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, but completely understand and can develop end to end applications. Job Requirements: • Expert level knowledge of HTML/CSS - You should be able to develop the presentation tier for high traffic, consumer facing applications, while thinking about site speed, user experience, product strategy, and how can we improve what we are building. - Understand the core of browsers and how they render HTML . • Expert level knowledge of OO JavaScript - JavaScript frameworks are nice, but you don't need them. - Able to build large JavaScript application that takes into account site speed, ajax calls, lazy loading, with deep knowledge of how the browser calls assets. - Experience with solving AJAX bottlenecks and performance • Ability to develop end to end prototypes without assistance from others. • Preferably strong knowledge of Java. Must have strong knowledge of at least one application language. • Experience with HTTP/HTTPS protocols, REST, SOAP, JSON, and SOA architecture • Solid recent experience with Jakarta/Apache Tomcat; Struts MVC framework (Action-class development and JSP authoring); custom JSP tag use; • Experience with XML and at least one common web application scripting language (PHP, ASP, JSP, etc). • Knowledge of the latest design and development trends from tablet, mobile, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript evolution, responsive design, accessibility, site speed, etc. • Must have at least 8+ years of experience.
