The PHP Application Developer follows best practices while supporting the Education development teams in their web development needs. As a member of the Technical Services team, the PHP Application Developer contributes as a project team member through various phases during design, development and release. * * *Primary Duties / Responsibilities* • Supports the analysis, design, and implementation of a web platform for converting, creating, and sharing content. • Provides a consultative approach to designing and developing web based solutions that meet and exceed expectations • Contributes to project planning by coordinating related deliverables, identifying dependencies and potential impacts, and providing accurate timeline inputs to the project lead. • Participates in the development, QA and release of projects by executing on planned concepts. • Learns new technologies, methodologies and techniques as well as industry standards and best practices • Demonstrates high levels of ownership over the quality of output for all project deliverables. • Performs other duties as required. * * *Qualifications (knowledge, skills, abilities)Required:* • Ability to estimate efforts, manage scope, participate in weekly planning and project-related meetings, and communicate with stakeholders, peers and management. • Demonstrated proficiency with web development tools and technology including but not limited to: - PHP, MySQL - HTML, JavaScript, XML - Cake PHP (desirable, not essential) - Agile development • Experience manipulating XML documents with PHP • Experience of object oriented programming / modular programming • Understanding of MVC design patterns and frameworks • Good levels of communication, both written and verbal • Enthusiasm and an interest in all things technology • Outstanding achievement and a proven history of success * * *Desirable, but not essential:* • Front-end development including jQuery • Familiarity with Python • Experience of the full software development lifecycle: from requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery Requirements (Education, Certification, Training, and Experience) • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, or Professional/Technical Communications with 2-3 years of overall working experience Thanks and Regards, Arjun/InfoTech Spectrum Inc.
