Title: Java UI Developer Location: New York, NY Duration: 6-12 month contract ******MUST BE LOCAL FOR A FACE TO FACE****** *Description:* Team is looking for a mid to senior level UI Developer. Must be strong in Java and web based UI languages(i.e. ajax, jsp, GWT frameworks etc). Candidate should also have on hands experience with scripting tools(perl and/or ksh…etc), must be strong with SQL, any Oracle experience would be a huge plus, should have hands on experience with Weblogic or a something related. *Main Duties* *Essential Duties and Responsibilities *include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required. Develop new and maintain and enhance existing applications to support business expansion Develop reliable and high-performing server-side framework and components to support WEB based UI Perform complete testing of applications unit and system, coordinate with business users as necessary. Design and implement user-driven templates, databases and interfaces for ease of use. Candidate must be strong with Java and web based application development knowledge with latest web technology such as jsp, ajax, httpsession, GWT framework etc. Develop database-driven Web interfaces for rapid, real-time information sharing. Candidate must be a team player and willing to teach and to learn. Provide technical leadership to offshore developers The Ideal candidate will also possess the following skills: Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines. Able to promptly answer support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications. Self motivated, detail-oriented and organized. Proficient in Internet related applications such as E-Mail clients, FTP clients and Web Browsers. Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation *Person Requirements* *Qualifications: *To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. *Education and/or Experience:* Bachelors degree in computer science, MIS, or related experience. Must possess superior skills in – Object Oriented Paradigm, Java, JMS, J2EE, JUnit Must possess web development knowledge – Java/JSP, ajax, GWT/smartGWT, Javascript debugging Must possess scripting language skills such as ksh, perl etc. Must possess superior skills in SQL and basic performance issues (Oracle experience would be a big plus) Must possess experience with App/web servers like weblogic 10.x, apache Must possess experience with building tools like Ant (Maven experience would be a plus) Experience with Spring framework would be a plus Experience with charting tools like highchart would be a big plus Must possess fixed income product and analytics knowledge Experience in structured environment with increasing levels of responsibility and complexity. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work additional hours as needed.
