*Title:* *Websphere Administrator* posted on 2013-09-17 14:55:13 *Job Description:*Dear Vendors, Job Title: App Hosting Systems Engineer – *WebSphere Admin* Location: San Francisco, CA Duration: 6+ Months Description • Responsible for Web, Application and Portal server/system engineer support for a large and diverse enterprise application environment • Install, configure, monitor, tune and support application platforms from small to large enterprise applications. • Review technical requirements to build and configure an optimal and integrated Web, Application and Portal server instances that meets or exceeds technical, performance and application requirements • Provide system engineering technical expertise to applications developers, operations, etc. for systems development and rotating production on-call support • Hands-on lead engineer position that involves managing a complex and diverse application platform environment • Establish close working relationships with the application development teams and understand their business and technical requirements. Support all phases of application development, testing and deployment activities. • Work with vendor technical support teams or other Gap engineering or application teams to resolve product issues • Anticipates and identifies issues that may impact project delivery or business SLA's and implements corrective actions • This position will report to the Director of Enterprise Application Hosting. Qualifications • 8+ Years of relevant experience in the Information Technology • Strong working experience with IBM Websphere Application Server, IBM Websphere Portal, Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, etc. • Ideal candidates will have detailed knowledge in UNIX shell scripts, UNIX system concepts, Java, J2EE, databases, networking, Configuration Management tools, etc. • Proven ability in automation using ANT, PERL scripts, Shell Scripting, Jython/jacl, Mave, Chef/Puppet, etc. in a continuous build environment would b e a plus • Demonstrated expertise in Web, Application and Portal Server system engineering supporting development and production systems in a Unix/Linux and Windows operating environment with at least 6+ years of progressive experience. Proficient in configuring and supporting Websphere and JBoss clustering, JDBC JMS queues, etc. • Demonstrated experience in project development and operation support activities for large enterprise projects and technical environment.
