*SAS Support Specialist.....SAS Developer with Oracle exp.*
*GENERAL DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: *
The *SAS SUPPORT SPECIALIST* will be working within our Business
Intelligence team and is primarily responsible for supporting our existing
SAS/Oracle environment. This position requires strong customer focus and
prompt handling of various issues as they arise (job failures,
connectivity, permissions, etc.). The qualified candidate will support
hundreds of SAS/Oracle batch jobs that load our data warehouse. This is a
senior role with high visibility requiring very strong knowledge of our
overall batch and ad hoc SAS environments.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *
· Daily support of SAS/Oracle Batch jobs
· Daily support of SAS/Oracle Ad hoc customers
· As required SAS/Oracle development efforts for the business team
· As required SAS Admin server maintenance and support
*CHARACTERISTICS AND QUALIFICATIONS:*
*Required:*
· Strong SAS base, macros and Access to Oracle experience
· Strong understanding of the Oracle database and SQL programming
language
· Experience working with formal SDLC and change management tools
(Clear Quest, etc.)
· (Sr.) demonstrated ability to support multiple projects
concurrently
· (Sr.) experience working with team members to define, document,
and develop software
· (Sr.) understanding of SAS/Oracle performance tuning techniques
· Experience developing/debugging complex SAS ETL against the
Oracle database
· Experience automating complex processes into streamlined
applications
· Strong customer and business focus
· Strong documentation and communications skills
· Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
etc.)
· Demonstrated ability to produce high quality work products with
attention to detail
*Preferred:*
- SAS ADMIN with experience installing/administrating SAS servers
- Working knowledge of one of more of the following:
- SAS Management Console
- SAS Metadata Server and Repository
- Job Scheduling and Load Balancing
- B.S. degree in computer science or similar degree.
