Full Job Description

 

Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate on an Agile development team while creating and evolving the database and data-related aspects of applications as part of the Payroll and Corporate Enterprise (PACE) business unit.
  • Provide leadership in database design and data strategy for transactional and reporting database systems, ensuring the work fits into the overall enterprise architecture.
  • Apply data refactorings as needed to incrementally evolve and migrate the database schema.
  • Diagnose and propose solutions for database and application performance issues.
  • Provide recommendations to maximize performance and stability.
  • Implement test data management and data privacy solutions in non-production environments.
  • Define and enforce standards, guidelines, and best practices across database and data-related disciplines and technologies.
  • Participate in peer driven code and design reviews.
  • Mentor and collaborate with application developers in building database solutions while transferring knowledge and skills across the team.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience designing database and data warehouse/reporting solutions.
  • Expertise in relational modeling concepts, tools (ERwin, InfoSphere Data Architect, etc.), and techniques.
  • Highly proficient in SQL and stored procedures on DB2 LUW.
  • Experience with Agile (or similar) design philosophies and methodologies (e.g., Scrum, XP, etc.).
  • Familiar with BI and data warehousing concepts and best practices.
  • Familiar with reporting tools and deploying and integrating reports with enterprise applications.
  • Experience with UML-based artifacts, class diagrams, etc.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment is a must.
  • Experience with Business Objects and Crystal Reports is a plus.
  • Experience in Financial applications is a great plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience desired.
