Please go through the following job description, if interested send me your updated profile ASAP. *Title:* Hadoop Administrator *Location:* St Louis MO *Duration:* 6-12 months *Skill set/Keywords:* Cloudera Hadoop *Total Experience:* Senior Level - 5-10yrs *Job Details:* *Role summary: * - The Global Infrastructure Services (GIS) team within IT works closely with the various business units to build and run infrastructure to support the growing needs. - The candidate will act as a member of Monsanto’s Infrastructure Advanced Support - Research Platform Services team as a Cloudera Hadoop Administrator. - The candidate will primarily handle support activities for Cloudera Hadoop clusters including incident management, cluster management, troubleshooting, and system access. - The candidate will also provide support for Hitachi BlueArc (HNAS) systems, Unix servers, and both LSF compute farms; including firmware upgrades, storage provisioning , troubleshooting, incident analysis and incident escalation. - The candidate should expect a normal 8-5 work schedule but will be expected to participate in an on-call rotation as well as some weekend work and evening work for upgrades and outage management. - They will help to improve procedures and monitoring, and will work on process automation tasks / scripts. - This position requires a high degree of teamwork. - The ideal candidate will have a strong technical aptitude in Cloudera Hadoop and a desire to learn about Storage systems and compute farm environment. - They will need to be an energetic, self motivated individual who enjoy working in a collaborative team environment. - They must be committed to Customer Service. - *Education Requirements:* University degree – B.Tech/BS/MCA/B.Sc(Computers) *Software/Hardware Knowledge Needed: Hadoop: * • Cloudera Hadoop • Cluster management and deployment • Monitoring • System Maintenance • Installation/configuration • Upgrades/migration • Performance tuning • Troubleshooting • HDFS • HBASE • PIG • Oozie • Hive • Hoop • Sqoop *Nice to have skills:* BlueArc/HNAS: • Create an EVS • Create a file system • Export a file system • Make a thin provisioned file system • Performance analysis • Manage storage growth rates • Migrate EVS • Manage node reboots • Explore and look at the contents of the file system *LSF Compute Farm: * • Cisco UCS Blades • Linux • Scripting - Brocade SAN switches - Hitachi AMS experience - Linux system administration skills (SuSE and Redhat) *Any Other Job Skills Needed:* • Communications: Must have effective verbal and written English communications skills • Continuous Learning: Seeks learning opportunities; applies learning to make significant business contributions; actively welcomes coaching • Problem solving: Makes sound, timely decisions that have positive impact on the resolution of issues and problems. • Results Oriented: Sets high personal standards.
