Title: Mainframe Business Analyst posted on 2014-05-23 16:29:33 Job Description:*Position Description:* Position Summary Our Reinsurance Department is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to facilitate the development and implementation of reinsurance systems solutions to meet business objectives in the most effective and efficient manner. As a member of our dynamic team, you will be involved with Informational Technology staff and Life & Retirement business areas from the initial phase to the final implementation of reinsurance systems projects. This position will coordinate and carry out all of the phases of the implementation process from the business user viewpoint, including design, coding, testing, review and approval. Specific duties include implementing new products/treaties and installing changes to improve the functionality for the reinsurance system and its interfaces with other AIG administrative and financial systems. · Responsibilities also include interfacing with other functional areas such as product development, · IT/systems, policy administration, legal, compliance, valuation and marketing to ensure effective and timely implementation schedules. · You will also identify and evaluate all options, recommend solutions based on cost benefit analyses, develop business specifications, code user-based tables, fully document results and facilitate communication between business, technical staff and vendor at multiple site locations. Organization Structure and Interfaces · This position reports to the Systems Manager responsible for reinsurance administrative and valuation systems within the Life & Retirement Services Financial division and does not have any direct reports. · Team members will have significant interaction as they coordinate and collaborate to reach sound decisions and ensure high quality, consistent output. · Significant interaction with other functional areas, particularly during product development and implementation will also be required. Performance Objectives · Demonstrate full understanding of the project life-cycle and the integral role the Business Analyst position plays in planning, coordinating, managing and executing key tasks of the project. · Independently plan, coordinate and manage multiple tasks, assignments and resources with minimal supervision. · Successfully implement reinsurance system changes, including new products and treaty arrangements, within targeted timeframes and using adequate controls. · Provide support and expertise for internal and external audit inquiries. Requirements · Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Mathematics related discipline · Significant overtime may be occasionally required to meet project deadlines. · 6+ years of experience overall with at least 3 years of system experience. Significant experience in system conversions and life administration systems is preferred.
