*Description:*
Taking over the existing Informatica processes and designing and coding for
the new processes ensuring high quality as well as enhancing the existing
one. Responsible for writing technical design documents and follow the
software development life cycle and coding standards. Require
understanding the problems user or business is facing with the business
data and processes and find ways to correct them. Responsible for
understanding of existing Informatica processes and find out ways to
tune/improve them. Support the business groups by resolving issues and
providing guidance and feedback to the user. Require consistent and
frequent updates to immediate manager about the project status and
concerns, also to other project team members on a need bases.
- Perform the role of a Senior Developer based on Agile methodologies
- Implement solutions considering accuracy, efficiency and reusability
- Design the technical solution, effort estimates and costs for internal
and external systems integration needs based on business requirements
- Support QA/UAT support and defect resolution
- Deployment coordination, including seeking Change Management approvals
and build management
- Respond to support tickets and resolve issues based on the urgency and
the importance of the issue
- Handle business and user inquires about data and processes
*Requirements:*
- Application development technologies
- *At least 5 to 7 years of working with Informatica Power Center*
- *At least 5 to 7 years of in-depth Teradata development experience*
- *2+ years of experience with Teradata Parallel Transporter*
- *3 years of experience with writing Teradata Stored Procedures*
- *3 years of SQL Programming Experience in Teradata. Oracle and DB2
experience is plus.*
- *Expertise in Teradata SQL & Teradata Utilities like Multiload,
Fastexport, BTEQ(Batch Teradata Query), Fastload, Teradata Parallel
Transporter, TPump, VIEWPOINT, DATAMOVER*
- *Good experience with Teradata Performance tuning including
collecting Stats, Primary Index, Primary Partitioned Index, Join Indexes,
Secondary Indexes , analyzing explain plans*
- *In-depth knowledge in the Teradata cost based query optimizer,
identified potential bottlenecks with queries from the aspects of query
writing, skewed redistributions, join order, optimizer
statistics, physical
design considerations (Primary Index, Unique Secondary Index, Non Unique
Secondary Index and Join Index etc.) etc. In-depth knowledge of Teradata
Explain and Visual Explain to analyze and improve query performance*
- *Experience in loading data from various data sources and legacy
systems into Teradata warehouse using BTEQ, FASTEXPORT, MULTI LOAD,
FASTLOAD and Informatica*
- *Strong DDL and DML writing skills are essential as well as being
able to write complex SQLs for data analysis.*
- *Competency with Enterprise tools commonly used in an EDW
environment such as TIBCO, Golden gate, etc. is a plus*
- *Data modeling skills in Teradata is a plus*
- *Experience with Teradata Administrator and Teradata Manager Tools
for monitoring and control the system is a plus*
- *Certification in Teradata and Teradata SQL is a plus*
- *Experience with Unix Shell*
- *Experience working with Unix, Linux and Windows platforms*
- *Experience with tools like Data Profiling or Data Cleansing is a
plus*
- *Familiarity with any BI tool*, *experience with Micro strategy is
a plus*
- Design and Architecture
- *Good understanding of Data Warehouse concepts*
- *Experience in working with high volume data load is a plus*
- *Good understanding of software development life cycle and coding
standards*
- *Experience in creating requirements, analysis, design and
deployment documents based on Agile development methods*
- Knowledge of the hospitality industry is a plus
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Abilities or Key competencies
- *Ability to quickly troubleshoot systems and support system outages
with minimal disruption*
- *Analytical ability, judgment, and the ability to work effectively
