We presently have an immediate need for a Oracle DBA. Position: Oracle DBA Location: Salt Lake City, UT Duration: 12+ months *Rate: $48/hr C2C Max* [ JOB DESCRIPTION]: Looking for a Database Administrator to provide support to our Development, Test, and Production environments. This position is responsible for the creation and administration of multiple Oracle schemas. Candidate will be working with Oracle RAC, CRS, ASM, OGG, sqlplus, and sqlnet running on Linux. Strong troubleshooting skills are required in addition to participation in an on-call rotation Responsibilities Create and upgrade database schemas for Development and Test environments. Troubleshoot issues and document any improvements to prevent issues from reoccurring. Have an understanding of technical database and development work. Work with both customers and developers to identify and resolve database configuration and performance issues. Education and Experience: 2+ years of Oracle 10g / 11g database administration experience. BS in Computer Science or equivalent desirable Experience with Unix shell scripts and other Oracle technologies Exposure to Golden Gate, RAC, CRS, and ASM. Experience with 24/7 Production Enterprise support a plus. Skills and Knowledge Ability to perform routine Oracle DBA tasks. Ability to troubleshoot issues and roll out Oracle patches. Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL language. Experience with Oracle RAC technology on Linux and / or oracle replication is a plus. Maintain a degree of expertise in the use of the tools and methodologies of data analysis, database administration, and PL/SQL development and performance analysis and tuning. Ability to communicate at a business function level with technology personnel in both verbal and written communication. Strong analytical, diagnostic and creative problem solving skills. Understanding of Oracle database connectivity.(sqlnet, listeners, scan listeners, tnsnames) Familiarity with software configuration management and tools.
