*Job Title* SQL Server DBA *Project Location* Irving, TX *Duration* 6 months /Contract *Skills Required and Job Description:* *MOI:- Telephonice + Face to Face* *Job Description:* Client is looking for an extremely senior level DBA to come in and assess their current SQL environment, then make suggestions on where to take it in the coming two years. There is currently an operational DBA that currently handles simple break/fix issues. There are 3 different environments in place (dev, prod and qa), with 60 servers and 5 clustered spread out across 2 different sites (Irving and Waco). *Required Skills:* - Lead, administer, maintain, develop and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company production databases - Design, develop and implement data models and database designs, and data access - Resolve and analyze performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues for all production/test databases - Architect, analyze the organization's database needs and develop a long-term strategy for data storage Develop and establish policies and procedures related to data security and integrity monitor and limit database access as needed - Architect and oversee the design, maintenance and implementation of the organization production/tests databases - Performance tuning of databases Implementation of service packs and cumulative updates - Established time management and prioritization skills - Minimum of 5 years experience with SQL Server 2005 and 2008 required Hands-on experience with SQL Server installations, migrations upgrades, configuration, tuning, index creation, and performance analysis - Proven track record of 24x7x365 production support experience - Hands experience with ActivePassive and ActiveActive cluster implementations in Windows Server 2003/2008/2012 environments - Improvement and maintenance of current existing programs, DTS packages, SSIS packages and SQL stored procedures - Expertise in backup, recovery, fail-over methods and best practices Excellent communications skills both written and verbal - Ability to write clear documentation of operating procedures, and ability to write detailed specifications Implementation and maintenance of transactional and snapshot replication *Plus Skills:* - Strong understanding of the database development life cycle including data modeling, database coding, testing, and implementation - Advanced knowledge of writing SQL scripts In-depth knowledge of T-SQL, including complex SQL queries following best practices - Strong experience of backup and restore operations, DB access security, stored procedures, schema, triggers, database maintenance activity, etc. SSRS, SSIS development N-tier architecture *Soft Skills:* - Candidate should be a self-starter - Quick learner - Great team player -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "US_IT.Groups" group.
