*Location: Milwaukee, WI*

*Length: 6+ month contract*

*Rate: $50-$55/hr on C2C (max)*

Environment: Linux and Solaris – 800 Servers ( SAP) 65% virtual

Role: Administrate and Break/Fix

Write scripts from scratch is a bonus

Global Support – on call rotation – weekends and nights ( Support Global)

Soft Skills – think on their feet ( example system goes down at 3am) and
work in Diversity environment





*Unix Server Systems Analyst*



*SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION:*



This position will work extensively in the Solaris Unix and Suse Linux
server environment.  The candidate is responsible for all Solaris Unix and
Suse Linux servers support including build and support activities.  The
candidate will handle breakfix hardware and software issues plus any
maintain and operate duties related to daily support of Solaris Unix and
Suse Linux servers.





*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*



*Functional Expertise*

   - UNIX Account management including adds, disabling, modifications,
   password changes, etc.
   - Manage "sudo" permissions for application accounts and administrators
   - Setting up and managing UNIX printer queues
   - Solving various Sun Solaris, HP UX and Linux Server and Workstation
   hardware and software issues
   - Performance monitoring techniques on server software and hardware
   - Patching servers according to tested procedures.
   - Troubleshooting server and application performance issues.
   - Solving Veritas Cluster Server issues.
   - Managing storage and using Solaris Volume Manager and Veritas Volume
   Manage to mirror OS Drives
   - Implementing and maintaining VMWare ESX/ESXi 4.x Linux Virtual guests
   - Resolve Solving BMC patrol alerts (full file system, high CPU
   utilization, etc.)
   - Promoting of authorized changes within TripWire Enterprise Management
   console and investigating other Tripwire alerts.
   - Working with and solving NFS client and server Issues
   - Managing Samba issues.
   - Solving cron job issues.
   - Manage NIS clients and yp maps
   - Work with Engineers to trouble shoot Software License Manager
   - Order, receive, unbox, Jumpstart/Kickstart OS and install servers in
   the Data Center according to procedures.
   - Use GNU Revisions Control System (RCS) with files system file that are
   checked into RCS.
   - Setting up and maintaining SSH Public/Private Key Exchange "Trusts"
   between systems.
   - Writing an maintaining various Korn shell or PERL scripts used for
   system administration

   - Experience with Unix servers and hardware Sun Solaris and HP Blade
   Server class hardware.
      - Sun SPARC Servers - Sun SunFire E25000, M5000, T2000, T5120, V240,
      V245, 480R, V490, E450, E3500 - Running Solaris 2.6, 7, 8, 9 & 10
      - HP-UX PA RISC Servers - 9000/800 class - RP4440, D370, L1000,
      RP3410, RP5430, RP-2450, RP3440 - Running OS - HPUX 11.00 11.11, 11.23
      - Intel CPU based systems - HP BladeSystem c7000 Enclosure G2,
      ProLiant BL460c G6, ProLiant DL380 G5/6  - running RedHat
Enterprise Linux
      3, 4 & 5 and SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 10



   - Experience with tools and utilities.
      - Veritas Cluster Server HA (VCS, VEA, VxVM, VxFS)
      - Solaris Volume Manager (SVM)
      - Build environment experience (Jumpstart, KickStart YaST, etc.)
      - VNC and X11 managers



   - Good English reading, writing and verbal communication skills
   - Able to work in a round-the-clock, global operation  7 days x 24 hours
   - Strict adherence to company standards and procedures.



*EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:*

·                Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Management
Information Systems or equivalent

·                Preference to candidates with Solaris 8, 9 or 10
certification

·                Preference to candidates with Novell Linux Certification

·                Minimum of 4 years experience in IT



*DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS*:

·                Background and understanding of IT controls and compliance.

·                Experience with regulatory environments including
Sarbanes-Oxley, Section 404 and governance frameworks including COSO, ITIL,
COBIT and ISO17799.

·                Solid PC skills and proficiency in office productivity
software (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, etc.)

·                Ability to provide off hours global support.

·                Excellent trouble shooting skills
