I am trying to start a umpc linux project for the standardisation and creation of documentation and guidelines for gtk applications so they are designed based on open standards and open specifications and can work on small and big screen devices. I am a person that want upstream solutions so that everything gets clear and there is a larger support platform.
Currently I have loads of problems with lots of applications that have fixed window sizes and are not able to fit on smaller screens, while a little program change allow the use of the apps on smaller screens. I want windows to be able to size down and have maximizing options so they work on 7" screens with 800x440 free rendering space. To change this to want to attend developers to create there dialogues to the following specs .... but i cant find the specs. ... i have looked at the HIG guidelines but could not find anything. Any ideas how we can solve these problems upstream?
