YT uses different codecs for 'live' and uploaded videos. After a period of time, the re-encode the live videos as archived videos and then they can be viewed normally like you say.
Indeed, I play youtube videos all the time in my toolbox that runs the cef browser widget..... but ya..... nothing live. I hope this gets solved sometime.
