Mike Kerner: > i am so disappointed in the direction LC is choosing to go.
Yes - Thanks for speaking up again! I was shocked at how your concerns were brushed away before. A real fix is needed; not just emotional persuasion techniques, presentations, personal favors, and threats to like it or else. Not a personal, private account matter - globally flawed terms! Window is closing to fix some LiveCode pricing/terms issues. Compounding it - Some people get tempted to throw other users, and new users, under the bus if they might get a personal exception... trying to shush or disrupt discussion and awareness. Twin EULA problems - Runtime kill switch = fragile Toy Apps. Blank check terms = legal/financial minefield. Meet the LiveCode Create EULA - https://livecode.com/eula I also need to thank you, Mike - All year I was sick, and most days could not even do a web search. Nor look around/read much. Or type. Had to rest completely. Caught by the new LiveCode direction, and stuck while sick - then you posted, similar to ... > we're down to two LC apps, and we're working on moving those > to other tools... we've deployed a couple of new apps in flutter, > and we're screwing around with swift and kmp for two more. I bookmarked your post - Had to wait for a while. On a better day, I literally right clicked 1 of those to search - and slowly started reading on each tool. That really helped. And look at me now - finally typing emails again! God is good. No road blocks with Him. Still recuperating, but this is progress. > i've previously posted on this topic, and the fees we pay, > annually, forsome of the other tools that we use, > and what we get for the money Can't ignore it - The most popular alternatives have come a long way. Easier/better now. People are noticing. People have been retooling elsewhere; no choice. Very attractive, increasingly convenient choices - Without a kill switch, blank check, or end user pricing headaches! Freedom to actually Create anything you want to do. No limits. But of course ... I really enjoy LiveCode and the syntax - derived from HC/SC too. Loyal users from HC/SC to LC hate to move on without a word. That's not arguing; it's speaking up to benefit all and LiveCode! We have been here a long time. Either way, we have successfully sent a group message. That helps LiveCode re-evaluate extreme plans. LiveCode recently requested my feedback to help improve LC. Glad to help. Easy to fix if LiveCode chooses. Bright future / new year... Happy Holy-days of Christ's Mass!
