Thank you everyone for all the suggestions. I feel a bit stupid having done quite a bit of chunk matching and replacement + moving the end of "sentences" to the start and so forth, that it never occurred to me to use 'Line'.
The only thing I wonder about now is how crossplatform-consistent cr is.
