Two years ago I posted a handler for finding info for removable USB
drives, based on input from a great many of the regulars here:

This has worked well for years, but is reportedly failing to find
removable volumes on Win8 and OS X Mountain Lion.
Anyone here know what needs to be updated for those systems?
