I imagined that the desktopChanged message *might* even be sent under Mavericks and Yosemite when the menubar switched monitors and then I could fetch the screenRects in a handler for that message as a check vs having to poll the screenRects every x interval of time, but before investing the time to construct test stacks and change startup disks and so on and so on, I was hoping someone on the list had already done this and definitively knew the answer :-)
