Right, wasn't sure about that, hence the "?" at the end :-)

I tried this as a front script and it works.

function getList
   remove the script of <frontscriptobject> from front
   dispatch "getList" to <theotherobject>
   --do whatever with the reult
   insert the script of <frontscriptobject> into front
end getList

Feels a bit kludgy though.
