logical time/date operators?

hello: i want to compare time and date information to determine whether a certain time/date falls within a certain time/date window. apparently, this doesn't work with the > or < operators (at least i cannot get that to work). will i have to write my own function, is there something built in RR, or does someone have a solution to share? thanks! olli.
