Hi Signe, I live in the UK - so I'm almost in Europe ;-) The PC is configured with "English (United Kingdom)" as the input locale.
I've developed the palette (with some help from the kind people here). It works very satisfactorily, and very similar to your description. If I can get the final problem ironed out, I will offer it to Runrev as a user contribution.
