If you type the missing "s" after http in Mail it will take you to the https://
page BUT it is not secure!!!! It is heavily reliant on Javascript
and cookies to load your information.
Look at the source code for each view and you will see they are both
the SAME code. http:// & https:// source is identical.
And they both point ONLY to the original http:// NOT to any https://
at all.
From the source code view do a search for https and you will find
nothing but just http will show the actual targets from within this
site.

I've never used qMail, so I'm making some assumption here. Perhaps
this
will help:
When you connect to your WebMail Server using https://, everything is
encrypted including your user name and password. When you connect to
your WebMail Server using http:// everything is sent to your WebMail
server in plain text. The WebMail server is a middleman that brokers
between your computer and the SMTP mail Server. You can see the

Yes, which is exactly why I noticed and was concerned that the
address was
plain http:
The strange thing is that both FireFox and Safari start at the exact
same
'https:' login page, it's only after you've entered your details
that Safari
(after toing and froing between https: and http:) ends up on http:
whilst
FireFox ends up on https:
I was just wondering if anyone on the list used Safari & Gmail and
whether
the connection is http or https? Is it selectable somewhere?
Thanks
