Can you explain more about what you mean by "run it from the internet"? There should be no difference between the way this works for Mac vs. Windows. The most common way to do this, Mac or Windows, is to create a small standalone that simply opens a stack that is stored on a web server with the command:

  go to stack URL "http://myserver.domain.com/mystack.rev";

If it's working for you in Windows but not in Mac, the most likely culprit is that the internet libraries are not being packaged with the standalone. In the standalone applications settings window, make sure that the Internet library is selected under Script libraries. (You'll have to Select Inclusions manually to be able to do this.)
