That is really quite alarming!

Is there any way of seeing those Flash cookies when ont online?
On OS X, they are stored in ~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash
Player/#SharedObjects/

I guess they are in an equivalent location of Windows. (No access right now.) I
don't know about Linux.

It gets even worse!

Yesterday I went to

http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager06.html

as instructed, and deleted a flash cookie called 'susan-boyle.com' (err, all a bit embarrassing).

Today, had a look in the folders in

~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/#SharedObjects/

and 'susan-boyle.com' was still there . . .

so, obviously, at least as far as Mac are concerned, the online Settings Manager
is worse than useless; it is positively misleading.
