The eaƩsiest workaround is to first open a blank page; so on opening the revBrowser instance, I set the initial URL to "about:blank" and that seems to do the trick. Maybe this should be the default URL for new revBrowser instances - either that or they should make it very clear in the docs that a valid URL is required :-)
