The merger of 525 millions between Adobe and Aldus
must have been in discussion for months, before
their announcement of March 15 1994.

So, when Aldus sold SuperCard, they probably have
consulted with Adobe about this transaction.

If consulting with Adobe were not necessary then...
Why not sold FreeHand, that already have a great
user base among the graphic designer crowd?

Because Adobe want to do in 1994, what it's doing
now in 2010: Abandoning FreeHand into oblivion.

Sad, no?

(In case that you are wondering, i am a Xara user
since a few years ago, although i taught FreeHand
in Design Classes for many years)
