when is a title not a title?

I'm having lots of weird things happen this evening. :)

I set the title of a stack to "xxx".

If I 

    put the title of stack "thisStack"

it returns

    xxx

If I look at the stack inspector for the stack it correctly says the title
of the stack is

    xxx

But the title in the titlebar is different.

Agh!

Anybody ever see that before?
