It isn't actually a tutorial, but you might find my test stack helpful. Check out MySQLtests.rev.gz at http://www.troz.net/Rev/. If you use the entropy site for info on how to install MySQL on OS X, then my stack will introduce you to Rev's way of connecting and working with the data.
