The example I ended up with is http://balance-infosystems.com/applications/tcpcommander/TCPCommanderStack002.rev I successfully got a list of myob contacts from an middleware application server written in REALbasic to access a MYOB datafile via ADODB via an MS access database! Convoluted I know :-) , but the end result is a list of MYOB contacts from a win32 resource being displayed on a MacOSX machine, and a happy graphic designer who doesn't have to grapple with REALbasic...
