Sorry for the inprecise terms... If you go to the script editor, pull the script menu, you will find "Variable Checking" which enforces a local "explicitvariables" for that script. IOWs, it checks your variables and messages or references.
This forces you to declare all variables but the big advantage is that it will catch any typos in variables which are too easy to make...
