This is only in the IDE in 'work' mode. If you switch to the pointer(versus selection arrow) there are no droppings.

Is it a bug or an anomaly? There are many anomalies when working in the 'work' part of the ide.

I somehow doubt this is a bug. It probably works same in both modes, the difference being that IDE does tons of things behind the scenes (just fire the message watcher and watch all the messages from IDE) with a side-effect of not being able to update the display fast enough when extra processing is required (selection markers, default button outline).
