Hi Richmond, old chum :-)

'FREE' maybe too generous a term: Flip4Mac is a bit like
Quicktime itself as part of it is Free - for capabilities
such as converting WMV files to Mac native ones one has to
pay for a license.

True, but the "play only" component also did cost about 10 $ until
they made it available for FREE a couple of days ago :-)

For tight-fisted types like myself there are other, FREE,
solutions to dealing with Windows Media files on both Mac
OS X and Mac Classic. So, I am not quite as excited by
Flip4Mac as some other people seem to be.

Thanks for the tiny side blow :-D

I am always happy
when I can avoid having a Microsoft product

Flip4Mac is NOT a MS $ product, my friend!

But now i can delete the WMP for Mac, which IS a step forward
in your direction ;-)

on any of my
machines as I always have a funny feeling that they are
either gathering up info to send back to Uncle Bill or
doing odd things in the 'basement' of the computer.

Here are a few pointers:

That's "just" a converter.

Sure, but it is all about convenience!
Why switch to another player if you can use the "player de la maison"?

Especially in the browser this IS very convenient.

sincerely, Richmond Mathewson
