As you can tell, the advice of the others should be weighed more seriously than mine. I tossed my 2 cents in because I know how discussions can trigger the 'light' when you are struggling under the work load.
My background is fashioning software solutions rather than knowing good structure and techniques. Most of my efforts worked but grew from a basic outline instead of having a solid design from the beginning. Therefore, stop gap techniques like "first line = metadata" convention.
