Unfortunately I cannot answer Simon Harper's question,
but I can make a point about "heresy":

When adherence to a programming language, IDE or OS
becomes as bigoted and as self-destructive as various
religious and political  groupings have done from
time-to-time, it is time to move elsewhere.

So the word 'heresy' should not be necessary - and, I
at least, would like to think of the RR Use-List
members as constituing a "Very Broad Church"
indeed, with nobody giving out anathemas and so forth.
