If you're looking to get some official certification from Apple and/or
Microsoft, you'll probably have to submit your package art for some kind of
review process (which takes time).  I *do* know that Apple does not allow
application of their "Made for iPod" logo unless they approve *all copy* on
the box design (and they are very picky for iPod products).

However, I believe many folks simply apply system logos to show
compatibility at a glance.  I would guess as long as you make no claims to
being an Apple or Microsoft certified product, use of the OS images is
probably OK.
